Danielle Doucet

Multidisciplinary artist

 Available Works

Danielle Doucet is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice bridges dance, fashion, and visual arts. Originally from Ripon and now based in Gatineau, her artistic journey led her from contemporary dance to visual arts studies in Montreal, then to haute couture in Ottawa, before fully committing to painting.

Her approach has been profoundly shaped by residencies at the Atlantic Center for the Arts (USA), where she embraced collaborative, experimental, and process-driven creation. Movement, gesture, and intuition are at the core of her work, reflecting her deep connection to the body and lived experience.

She regularly exhibits in professional galleries, including Galerie Montcalm, Espace Pierre-Debain, and Ogilvy Gallery in Montreal. In 2023, she received the Prix Éclat Culturel from Culture Outaouais, recognizing the strength and impact of her artistic contribution.

A member of RAAV/CARFAC and a jury member for the Canada Council for the Arts, Danielle Doucet actively contributes to the development, recognition, and vitality of the contemporary arts.

She is currently introducing a new series, Fleeting Landscapes, composed of original works inspired by childhood memories of traveling through the countryside during family outings. Seen from a moving vehicle, these passing landscapes—fields, roads, shifting horizons and light—left lasting impressions that now re-emerge through abstraction.

Working intuitively, Doucet translates these fleeting visual experiences into gestural marks, layered textures, and subtle colour relationships. Each piece captures a moment suspended between movement and memory,  Fleeting Landscapes continues her exploration of motion, perception, and the way lived experience imprints itself over time.

Her work, rooted in movement and experimentation, invites reflection on the relationship between the artwork, space, and the viewer.
