Sophie Dufresne Guindon

Multidisciplinary Artist

Available Works

Born in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Sophie Dufresne Guindon is an artist whose practice is rooted in a sensitive relationship with nature and the living world. Forests and animals are spaces of grounding, contemplation, and inspiration that shape both her life and artistic work.
A certified forest bathing (Shinrin Yoku) guide, she nurtures her creative process through slow and attentive walks in nature. Her pared-down and intuitive work seeks to translate experiences of presence and resonance, exploring the essence of living beings.

Her practice combines watercolour, graphite drawing, collage, monoprint, and linocut—mediums that allow her to respond spontaneously to sensation and emotion. Through simple forms and restrained compositions, she creates works that invite stillness and a sensitive encounter between humans and the natural world.
Before fully dedicating herself to visual art, Sophie studied music, co-founded two artisan bakeries, and later created Papoum Papoum, an eco-conscious comfort-doll company that she led for over twelve years. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions, festivals, and public spaces across Quebec and Ontario.
