Diane Lemire
Textile and Multidisciplinary Artist
Inspired by Memory and Nature Diane Lemire is a multidisciplinary artist who draws deep inspiration from her surroundings, the natural world, and her own lived experience.
Her work spans mixed-media sculpture, textile art, and painting—each piece evoking a strong sense of time, place, and forgotten memories. For the past 15 years, Diane has immersed herself in felting techniques, captivated by the ancestral craft of working with wool.
She continuously explores new ways to unite natural fibres with recycled and repurposed materials. Each of her creations begins with the act of reclaiming: carefully selecting found objects, collecting fragments of cloth, and imagining the stories they might tell.
Her creative process is slow, intuitive, and deeply selective. For example, she might work with sheer silk, hand-printed fabric, or delicate remnants of lace—each element carrying a sense of heritage. These are often combined with small found objects, which, when integrated into the work, take on new symbolic meaning.
Like chameleons, they are transformed—becoming part of a layered, poetic narrative. The fusion of water, human energy, and tactile materials breathes life into Diane’s creations—delicate, grounded, and hauntingly beautiful.✨
Diane Lemire is the recipient of numerous honours throughout her career and has exhibited in many prestigious venues.
✨ We are proud to count her among the artists of Galerie Old Chelsea.
