Ross Rheaume

Award winning Métis artist Ross Rheaume is drawn to paintings that contain both a strong use of shadows and light, as well as a narrative underpinning. Favorite subject matter includes winter urban settings such as New York City and Amsterdam, as well as scenes from Canada’s past. He works in oils on either canvas or wood and is inspired by Kreighoff, Van Gogh, Phillip Craig, David Bowie and Childe Hassam.

Ross was founder and director of Ottawa Art Expo for seven years and his work can be found in numerous private collections as well as in collections of Canadian War Museum, Heritage Canada, the Royal Ottawa Museum, Veterans Affairs and City Hall of Ottawa.
