Call to Artists 2025

Deadline for submission: March 8, 2024.

Galerie Old Chelsea is a non-profit gallery, owned and operated by ten regional artists whose art is permanently featured in the gallery. The Galerie is located above the award-winning Restaurant Les Fougères in Chelsea. We offer guest artists 32 linear feet of exhibition space for three-week periods. Each year we offer about 12 exhibition opportunities to local artists working in all media.

The Galerie is now accepting proposals for its 2025 program. Artists living within 100 kms of the Gatineau/Ottawa area are invited to submit applications. We encourage artists at all stages of their professional careers, with a variety of voices and forms of expression to apply. Solo, duo or groups shows are welcome.
 
Chosen artists will be required to pay a $295 exhibition fee. The Galerie will take a 25% commission on all work sold during the show or as a result of the show.

Submission Requirements
 
Your complete submission package must include the following:

• Current CV including your name, home address, phone number, languages spoken, email and website addresses (maximum three pages). 

• Artist Statement (maximum 500 words).

• Eight images of works representative of recent art you would plan to show at the gallery. Each image must be numbered, saved as a .jpg with a minimum size of 700 KB and a maximum of 1 MB. 

o   Numbered Image List with detailed information about each corresponding artwork. (Example: 01_Title_Medium_Dimensions _year-of-creation, price.)

Submissions will be reviewed by a jury of professional artists. Successful applicants will be notified of the jury’s decision by email.
