History
Galerie Old Chelsea is located in the Hanratty -Reynolds house, built in 1874. This was a private residence until 1990 when seven local artists opened it as an art gallery. Today, many artists display their work in the gallery.
The former owners of the Hanratty -Reynolds house, John Hanratty (1820 - 1874) and his wife Sarah (1832 - 1897) are both buried in the St Stephen's Cemetery - one of two local Cemeteries, the other being the Protestant Burying ground and one of the oldest in the region where the earliest gravestone bears the date of 1801.
The historic village of Old Chelsea is a gateway to Gatineau Park and home to many talented artists.
