Jim Leach
Jim is a self-taught artist whose interest in art came from his grandfather who was a landscape artist. Jim’s love of the countryside and the outdoors led him to complete a university degree in Physical Geography and ultimately to attempt to demonstrate his passion through his paintings. Through painting landscapes he has learned to appreciate the hidden colours that can be found in nature.
His paintings are “plein air” as well as based on
pencil, charcoal and watercolour sketches completed in situ. Jim has
used pastels, watercolours and acrylics although now he paints mostly in
oils. His landscape scenes
are primarily from the Eastern Townships region in
